Gregory 'Ironhide' Montgumery is the current govenor of the Province of Forglect, while not its first govenor he is it's longest running govenor having been in his position fir 30 years. How he did this is a tale of political corruption and lots of bribes, as Gregory is not the most honest man being rather unqualified for his position as his previous jobs all involved his work for the mob that operates in Forglect, a group by the name of the Smiths. Gregory gained his position in a time of great uncertainty in the region as the province was still trying to rebuild after its fall years back. It had seen many people move away and without Empire aid they have been left to flounder which let the Smiths make a move politically getting one of their own, their boss, elected. With such blatant corruption many figured this would finally bring the Empire to act but in the 30 years of his reign the only thing the Empire has done is congradulate him as even running a impoverished region he still manages to collect all the needed taxes to continue funding the Empire's fight against the Flock, and to them that is all that matters. Gregory meanwhile has let the land continue its slip into squaller profitting off the poor and desprate through the many predetory buisnesses that he and the Smiths run. Weather that be loan sharking, gambling, prostitution, drugs, and many other flavors of illegality he uses them all to turn a profit while instilling complete fear in his people.

Gregory has a very simple ideology that he lives by "The weak and the weary will never survive, the world is for the strong and the survivors to rule." He is a man who values the purest form of man that of animalistic brute strength and a will to survive. He demonstrates very quickly to his men as to join the Smiths you have to complete the simple task of surviving being tossed into a pit with a wild animal and if you live you are let into the gang as this shows that you either were strong enough to kill the beast or were able to escape the pit, as while Gregory doesn't value intelegence he does value cunning as in a war knowing lots of facts about wildlife can only help so much but being able to fight wild and strong now that is valuable. He keeps his men in shape keeping them constantly training in weapons and operating mech suits
