Hindaras

Hindaras is the Dwarven region of Etraas. Much of Hindaras is considered too unstable for people to live there comfortably. Large swathes of land are unable to sustain any plant growth, making it undesirable to the other regions. Dwarves have capitalised on this by setting up their homes deep in the mountains, where they harvest rare gems and metals.
The city of Thrund sits within Dundaras, a large mountain range which spreads into neighbouring regions. The city is known as a marvel of stonework, regularly referred to as one of the wonders of Etraas. All Dwarves grow up wanting to one day visit Thrund. The King of the Dwarves (Faldrun Dundaras) rules there from a throne of stone, commanding fear and respect.
It is rare for non-Dwarves to spend any considerable time in Hindaras. In particular in Thrund, where a non-Dwarf hasn't entered its gem mines in over a hundred years. Merchants and Craftsmen travel out of Hindaras to sell their wares, usually receiving a great amount of coin for the gems and Dwarven metalworks they carry.
The vast majority of Dwarves do not worship the Gods, preferring to pursue more material goals.
