Chapter 10: Search and Rescue

Last we left our heroes, the Phoenix Team had set out to find and retrieve CHLOE after it was discovered that she was missing from her room.

Deciding to split up, JACK and DEAN chose to return to their old stomping grounds. Meanwhile, FELIX KING took the initiative to investigate the last known location where Chloe was known to have been. While KATIA PETROV enlisted the help of ELEONORA, MATTHEW, and their respective teams to set out in a convoy of SUVs toward the Western part of the city. Guided by Felix's enhanced sense of smell.

Dean, following a low-level operative to a tucked-away hideout was the first to scope out the scene. He discovered a Cherufe gathering, celebrating the successful retrieval of both Bank and the Engineer. Jack, arriving later joined up with Dean at the sight of the hideout and worked together to get inside the building. Once inside, they witnessed what was soon to be a celebration killing of Smoke by Inferno. Acting quickly, Vanish teleported in just as Inferno was about to deal the killing blow and teleported as far away as possible with Smoke in his arms. Cell after discovering that Chloe was not at this location made the decision to try to stop Bank at all costs. Eventually resulting in a confrontation outside as the organization scrambled to leave the location.

Called by her brother, Felix to lend a hand, Hazel King the oldest of the King trio arrived just in time to try to save Cell. However, despite her efforts, Cell pressed the attack and attempted to stop Bank at all costs. Forcing Hazel to attempt to not only protect but also try to wrangle the young man away from danger.

Unfortunately, even the soon to be professional hero could not hold off the attack from both the Engineer and Inferno forever. Resulting in Inferno launching an attack meant to kill which she attempted to shield with her body. Cell pushed her out of the way to take fireball head-on. Leaving his right arm reduced to a smoldering stub at the shoulder and the majority of the right side of his body severely burned. Still, he managed to put Bank into a coma before being scooped up by Hazel in a desperate attempt to escape. The Engineer close behind as they took to the skies to make a getaway.

"I would like to see project Alpha completed within the next week. There is certain to be much more hero traffic within Horizon City, and I want witnesses."

"What about the girl?"

We were mistaken to believe that she had information about him. Vision has been dealt with, and once the project is complete we won't have to depend upon Fortune tellers any longer. We will be able to operate with impunity... Which means we will need to start bolstering leadership within the Initiate ranks. Do you have any suggestions?

*Remaining Cherufe Lower Echelon member steps into the darkness*

Our contact within the Brotherhood has indicated that they would like to merge. As a symbol of good will, we could accept their boss, I believe she previously went by "The Gray Death" into the Initiate with intention to promote to the Lower Echelon after the project is complete.

Its time to bring the Moore girl into the Initiate. She suggests that she would like to be known as Shade.
