Fae Hunter

Stories passed down among residents of the small island nation of Sanaria tell of an ancient group of proud warriors, whose sole mission was the complete eradication of any non-human race affiliated with the Faewild. Before cordial relations were created with the Sprites, whose homeland is situated on Sanaria, and the Elaan Elves of the Elaat mountain range, these races were commonly considered unnatural and terrifying by the humans of the land, with stories of them stealing away babies and replacing them with changelings, eating human flesh and other such idiocies.
The most hardcore believers in this formed the Fae Hunters, headquartered a small distance outside the Usulli Wildlands in order to be close to their intended prey. Believing that humanity was the only race that would be tolerated by the gods, this group made it their goal to find the gateway to the Sprite pocket plane in order to eradicate them, and then to move on to destroy the elves.
Roughly 200 years ago, a young Prince of Sanaria happened upon the Princess of the Sprites in the Usulli Wilds, and was immediately struck by her beauty and grace. The pair conducted a secret relationship for several years, lasting until the prince became King. He took it upon himself to petition the Queen of the Sprites for her youngest daughter's hand in marriage, and despite her misgivings the Queen relented, seeing a chance for their races to mend their relationship, but with the promise of swift vengeance should anything go awry.
Luckily, the Princess Ellis was Hyr caste - due to some interbreeding over millenia, a strain of human genes in all Sprite bloodlines occasionally results in children with human-shaped ears rather than the sloping downward-pointing ears native to the Sprite people - and as such could pass for human.
Due to this marriage, the King outlawed the Fae Hunters and decreed that all attacks on the Sprite or Elven peoples would be punished harshly.
