Astral Magic

The power of the mind is far greater than that of the sword - especially for those with magic. There are few who can take full advantage of the imagination, and most of them are astral sages. Their thoughts are so vivid that they can make them come to life right in front of your eyes and you'd have no choice but to believe whatever they show you.
Astral magic is composed of mostly dark and celestial energies. Its opposite school is primal magic and its sister school is empyreal magic. The three subclasses of astral magic are conjuration, destruction, and illusion. Each of these subclasses draws most of its power from the knowledge and imagination of the caster and converts it into something physical. Astral sages are often considered quirky or even eccentric. They vary from the book-smart scholar to the free-spirited artist, and no one can quite pin down how such different personalities find themselves within the same school of magic.

Conjuration

Vana is ripe with all manner of spirits. They're easy to find if you know where to look, but they don't always show themselves to strangers; especially the particularly powerful ones. Conjurers are able to summon spirits from the far corners of Vana or from the Spirit World to fight by their side. They also have the capability of creating items by binding spiritual energy into a specific form. Conjurers don't often show themselves in direct confrontation. Why do that when they can summon spirits to fight for them while they monitor in the shadows? This, unfortunately, is one of the reasons ordinaries are often frightened of spirits.

Destruction

Don't let the name of this magic fool you - its purpose isn't to destroy all the things. Destructionists are specialists in defense and strategy; they have the capability of deconstructing enemy spells and rendering them useless. It takes long hours of study to be able to stop magic from other schools, so it's not uncommon for destructionists to have an area of expertise: most often for the more dangerous primal sages.

Illusion

The masters of trickery, illusionists rely on the imperfections in a creature's perception in order to fool them into defeat. Despite the name of this magic, however, it does more than cast illusion over a specific area. Illusionists are also sometimes called enchanters due to their ability to fool the eyes or mind of only a single target. Should a zealous knight suddenly turn on their master without cause, it's likely that an illusion spell is behind it.
