Magitech

Appearance

Your average piece of magitech just resembles a black metal box with a slit on the top, maybe with a button or two. This seems unassuming, but when they're turned on is where that changes.
When on, large blue-tinted screens appear, hovering in midair. This is due to a careful mix of certain types of Distilled Mana, specifically conjuring and illusion.
These screens can be interacted with freely, and can even be moved around with a wave of a hand. They cannot go beyond five meters of their origin.

Availability

Magitech is somewhat common, but it is most commonly found in large cities due to how the connections work.
Each piece individual of magitech has to be connected to a central communications center. These stations are where the actual signals are sent back and forth, and without them the magitech simply won't work. Therefore, the cities have individual communication centers which all of the magitech in the city is hooked up to.

Complexity

Compared to a lot of things in Kathrir, magitech is very complicated. It takes many different parts, such as sigil boards, projectors, storage crystals-
All of these are very hard to come by and dangerous to handle, so most cities just get magitech pre-installed instead of letting whoever is moving in figure it out themselves and possibly get scammed and/or hurt.

Main Uses

Most of the time magitech is used for communication and connection. People can call others in an instant, view news on what is happening all around the continent, and learn more about anything they want with a few swipes.
This lets anyone talk to anyone across the continent (Albeit with a slight delay) but since they cant be mobile you can't just call anyone anytime.
