Jeweled Crow
Between stealing food, rearranging other people's belongings, and nesting in the strangest of places, the Jeweled Crow is an interesting species. Descended from normal crows, these crows have absorbed so much magic that they have gained very limited magical abilities, as well as a sparkling new coat of feathers.
They usually can be seen stealing food from food stalls in the more populated cities, as well as messing with anyone who crossed them. Those who were aggressive towards these shiny birds have had their keys, knickknacks, and even furniture rearranged inside their houses.
How the birds even get in is unknown.

Basic Information
Anatomy
These creatures resemble normal crows, but due to higher than normal levels of ambient magic their feathers and talons have taken on an almost glittery appearance as well as an unusually high amount of iridescence.
These genetic mutations cause the crows no harm, and some have even started using their newfound shininess to startle potential predators into leaving them alone.
Genetics and Reproduction
Jeweled Crows mate for life, and usually lay 2-4 eggs a year.
Ecology and Habitats
Most jeweled crows live on the west coast of Kathrir, due to their close proximity to the rings. The magic put off by the rings is considered to be the original cause for this subspecies.
Dietary Needs and Habits
This crow subspecies is an omnivore and it eats whatever is available. There are many coastal cities in their habitat, which usually means that stealing food from vendors is always an option.
Additional Information
Perception and Sensory Capabilities
Jeweled Crows have very similar senses to others of it's kind, with the exception of a very weak ability to sense magic, and to control shadows to a limited extent. These abilities technically places it into the Monster category, as the definition of a monster is a creature with any kind of magical capabilities.
These birds in particular use their magic to hide themselves in the shadows, and may use it to teleport. Whether they can or not is currently unknown.

Lol, I love how they can manipulate shadows but just use it for hiding and stealing food.
That was one of my favorite things about these guys lol, I just went "What would a bird use magic for?" and yeah. I'm glad you liked it :)
