The Blackshields
The Blackshields are the vanguard of Richard the Protector. They are knights clad in midnight armour bearing the sigil of the protector, a silver dragon.
The Blackshields are Richard’s most trusted warriors. They are tasked with the jobs he would entrust to no one else. Their primary goal is to find the remaining Dragonknights and bring them back to the capital for justice.
On the frontlines of the war with the Stone Dwarves, the Blackshield forces, led by Ser Redgar the Bloody, are cutting through the dwarf forces, burning and pillaging settlements as they go.
Structure
Though the front line forces are led by Ser Redgar, the Blackshields are actually overseen by Elise Blackthorne, Richard the Protector's wife, and Baroness of Vallea.
Public Agenda
The Blackshields are well known supports of the Protector. Many view the Blackshield's as Richard's person thugs.
History
Historically speaking, the Blackshields were the personal guards of the Baron of Vallea.
After Richard married into the Blackthorne family, they became his vanguard, and were some of the first troops to enter Dragonford following the death of King Marius Aster.
