Miludu

Mountainous people who reside in Vacivus. They are a large people and typically have brighter hair colors, such as blonde or auburn. They worship sprites as their gods and tend to think of other humans as strange "low-landers".

Naming Traditions

Family names

Names in Miludu culture are considered excessively long to outsiders, often spanning twenty letters or more. The names are actually just words from the language (Muladiusiludipaqedu) which convey as much information as a sentence from other languages might. These names are often translated into the simplest one-word translation to whichever language the person is in to help with communication.   For example, "Numuhukumakiaki'aialunamor" which means "the rock the father found shortly before the birth of the son" would be translated to "Rock" in the common language for outsiders.

Culture

Major language groups and dialects

Muladiusiludipaqedu, a complex language which can convey a sentence's amount of information in a single word.   Some of the difficulties non-natives face when speaking this language are:
  • The grammar of the language is spoken in a way that the verb is placed at the end of the sentence.
  • There are sixteen words for "the," each used for different reasons.
  • Pronunciation of many sounds are unique to this language.
  • Words have random genders which require memorization in order to use the correct grammar.
  • Many dialects of this language are spoken which change grammar, pronunciation, and genders

Art & Architecture

Miludu prefer naturalistic constructions for their buildings as they believe more artificial and "neat" buildings disturb their gods.

Common Customs, traditions and rituals

Due to their harsh environment, violent conflicts are often costly and are avoided at all costs. To this end, the three firstborn children of any couple are prohibited from fighting, in the army or otherwise; instead they are often cooks or builders. Only the fourth and later children are allowed to enlist in military endeavors.
