The bar Keep, Mr. Thomas will happily provide you with a cold drink, hot food and the most comfortable mattress outside of your home.   It's been rumoured that the Kings tavern is a place for many nefarious deals to take place, but if you keep your nose clean then no trouble can come your way.

Entries

Officially there are two entrances to the building, the main being into the dining and bar room, this entry is provided by a 6 foot wide door made of solid oak with brass fittings, the doorway leads into the southern wall of the structure.   The second entrance resides in the stabling area of the building to the east, this is a less obvious and grand entrance, a simple but strong oak door set with a small glass window and enters into the kitchen.   A third entrance that is known to only a few sits in the most north/west corner of the storeroom, a secret portal sits, evidence of this can be seen in the space always being left empty. A simple phrase activates the portal, "Sapphire Hammer". Once activated the portal takes the visitor to an old set of caves under the Middledock called The Elder Brotherhood Headquarters as evidence of its current owners.

Sensory & Appearance

The tavern smells of rich food and finely brewed ale, some of which are brewed on the premises. The tavern is meticulously cared for tavern only smells of the finer things in life, the rooms have the subtle smell of lavender while the stable is scented with only the freshest hay.

Denizens

Frequented by the Duke Brothers, Mortimer Duke and Randolph Duke this has become a place of heavy wagering.

Alterations

Originally part of the old city wall the main dining area of the tavern is the only remaining portion and as such has been meticulously restored, the walls are made from finely hewn stone while the door is a sturdy oak with brass fittings. The bar is made of honey-colored walnut that's part of the original dressings of the structure, it's been repurposed from the weapons stand it used to be.   New additions to the building are the northern wing that contains an extensive and large kitchen and a full and well-appointed storeroom, while another wing extending to the east houses luxuriously appointed rooms with firm beds of the highest quality.

Architecture

Built from the remains of an old guard tower the man room offers a warm homely feel.
