The Freelands Of Amery's

Situated on a boot-shaped piece of land in the southwest of Valcia the Freelands of Amery's is a large continent that contains the highest concentration of Human in the body of Valcia.
At it's south easternmost tip sits the capital city Port Maverick City which houses the royal family and ruling classes of the Human lands. Central to the landmass is Alisar, an independent territory unto itself. To the extreme north, the city of Norfall guards the pass into the lands via the Thorim Falls and the vast mountain chain Leranos Mountains.
The overall landmass consists of mostly rolling hills and deep lakes, all of which are excellent for crop growth, herd cattle, and fishing.
Several resources come from The Freelands of Amerys including Tallowood timber which is a sturdy building material, iron, some of the best on the continent, and many precious gems. Not to mention a large amount of meat, fish and grain products that come from the landmass.

Structure

Until recently the nation of Amerys was ruled by the royal Thoden family, however, in 3060 a coup took control, of the capital and instituted a Unitary parliamentary with a constitutional monarchy who now rule from the capital Port Maverick City

Public Agenda

Each city and surrounding lands are unilaterally run by the ruling class or government installed in the major city while freelands falls under the sway of the state legislative body and is protected by the army of Amerys.

Assets

The main assets of The Freelands of Amerys are rich iron deposits that are mined and refined within the country, these have been shipped as far as Istaroth. Grain and meat products also serve as a high-level commodity

History

History states that the Freelands of Amerys was wrestled from the tyrannical grip of the loathsome god Y'golonac by the brave and just demi-god Pan and his army of twelve.
On the brink of destruction Y'golonac blasted heat and hatred across the land, scoring all the trees and many of the people, he was then cast away in the heart of an asteroid to wander the universe in solitude forever.
In his wisdom and grace Pan drew the darkness from the landscape and replaced it with rich veins and iron and copper, he tilled the land until trees and grains grew up, and he welcomed the new race of man back to the world.

Physical Area The Freelands of Amerys covers an area of 66 thousand square miles. Of this, 28% (18 thousand sq. miles) is arable land, and 71% (47 thousand sq. miles) is wilderness.
Population The Freelands of Amerys has a total population of 2.6 million people.
Settlements The largest city has a population of 29 thousand people, the second largest 23 thousand. There are 4 other cities of note in the kingdom and 48 towns. The remaining population lives in numerous small villages, isolated dwellings, etc.
Castles The Freelands of Amerys has 52 active castles and 19 ruined. Of these, 47 castles and 18 ruined are in civilized lands, and 5 castles and 1 ruined are in the wilderness, along borders, etc.
Size The Freelands of Ameries covers an area of approximately 36242 acres, with a total population of 2.2 million people. The population is mostly human (79%), with smaller numbers of halflings (9%), elves (5%), dwarves (3%), gnomes (2%), half-elves (1%) and half-orcs (1%).
