Pick up the coral

You reach down to pick up the coral, while eagerly scanning the lakebed for more. You've heard they grow in clusters so surely there must be more. As your hand reaches down and touches the coral you feel a sharp sting on your hand. Quickly pulling back your hand you see a small red mark between your thumb and index finger. Then your hand starts to swell and as the panic rises you hear a excited squeal of joy. Looking up you see the mayor of Meda, Corrin, running past you and jumping into the lake with a splash. You feel the water droplets hit your face and as you reach up to wipe them of you see your hand being back to normal. "Come, join me for a swim, the water is incredibly refreshing!" It's not every day the mayor invites someone to swim with them and you can always grab the coral later.
You remove your shirt and pants and run in to the glistening lake. Corrin gestures for you to follow them as they dive below the surface. Taking a deep breath you dive after her. There's a huge coral reef down there and you see the mayor swim between the outcrops. You follow and try to catch up and you don't even notice as gelatinous tentacles slowly wrap around you and pull you in. You don't even notice when the air escapes your lungs and everything fades to black. The End (5)
