Investigate the shadow
Carefully setting your fishing rod in the holder grove you've created over the years, you approach the water to get a closer look at the shadow. The elongated shape have stopped moving and seem to slowly sick to the bottom, but the movement of the water makes it hard to see. You squint your eyes, raising a hand to shield your eyes from the sun glare of the water as suddenly a white mass of flesh explodes from the water and pulls you in. You feel razor-sharp claws dig into you as your life fades.
A large blotch of red starts dissipating in the water and on the shoreline is a small backpack containing a few sandwiches stands in the shade. As the the hours passes, calm is restored to the lake and no trace of what happened can be seen.
