Do nothing
You know that there are big fish in the lake and you hope it will leave as it's presence is sure to scare of the fish you're looking to catch. You sit still and watch the shadow move to the left and slowly fade away. You breath a sigh of relief and the tension you hadn't notice seep away from your muscles. It was just a shadow, nothing to worry about.
A soft breeze chase away the last worry and you see a small bird swoop over the water surface looking to catch some bugs.
The water suddenly explodes and you see a shape of chitinous shimmering blue, large mandibles and a gaping maw. A thick white tongue whips out and snatches you as the large monster lands on the shore with a thump. You're swiftly pulled into the maw and your life fades.
The hulking beast slowly uses it's front claws to shuffle back into the water. As the water surface slowly return to calm, large scratches in the soft mud of the shore can still be seen. Near the rock lies a broken fishing pole and the backpack have fallen over and there are splotches of blood slowly drying into the fabric.
