Loathe

The plane of Loathe is equivalent to the Hells so far as the mortal populace of the plane of Vaale is concerned. A vast expanse of steaming, writhing jungles and abysmal pools of primordial matter, it teems with chimerical obscenities that are kept from passing into the world of mortals only by the whim of its overseer, the Father of All Monsters--Ebiasoth. Every inch of this realm is created from the monstrous progenitor's foul form and intent and given over to the greatest extremities of degenerate lifeforms. Flowers that sup on flesh and blood and can pull up their roots to pursue their quarry. Horrific beasts with reaching limbs and dozens of heads gnaw and clutch for anything to consume.
At the center of all of this chaos of life giving into life is Ebiasoth, the great enemy. Residing in a mountain without a name, the heart of which pulses with volcanic heat and flowing magma, it erupts without warning and terrific violence, splitting the land and filling the fissures it creates with ash that is fertile with the very stuff of life, allowing new and even more terrible creations to spring forth and die and spring forth again. This ash is itself the stuff of legends and holding a pinch of it is to hold the means of creation in your hand.
Means to pass into and out of Loathe exist the world over and many adventurers seek them out to close them for good; the hope being that closing it will stem the tide of monstrosities passing through into the material plane and, perhaps, if every gate were closed, drive these nightmares to the brink of extinction. Some daring souls even go so far as to pass into those gates although more enter than leave it. Those that do are forever changed in body and soul. Visions of Loathe are granted to warlocks who serve the Father of All Monsters and for every gate that is shut, these warlocks will see to it at least two more are opened.
