The United Laniakean Revolt

The United Laniakean Revolt is the rebel organisation that aims to stop the Laniakea Imperial Technocracy's excessive warmongering and to establish a new government. The Revolt contains many smaller factions and political organisations all vying to establish their own policies as the new law.

Structure

Considering that their entire purpose is to win a war, the Revolt is run by the military. The Leader is the person responsible for orchestrating large scale movements and making large, generalised decisions. There are then several tiers of generals responsible for controlling smaller and smaller branches of the military all the way down to the captains that control individual ships. The Revolt is supported by countless political factions all wanting to usurp the Technocracy, and so if the revolt wants to receive resources from them, they have to try and appease them to the best of their abilities. This has created a very unstable structure for the Revolt because if factions start dropping out, they won't have any way of fighting the ever expanding Technocracy.

Public Agenda

Many people have different goals and motivations inside of the Revolt but they do all share one common purpose: to destroy the Laniakea Imperial Technocracy and to replace it with a new government. This new government is still very much undefined; nobody's sure which political faction will come out on top. It's entirely possible that destroying the Technocracy could just lead to even more civil war between the factions since the generals controlling the Revolt also have differing agendas and will likely want to support different factions.

Assets

At first, the Revolt only held 2% of the Technocracy's territories. Now, 200 000 years after the start of the war, they have 43%. Despite their large number of territories, they still have smaller, weaker fleets. However, 200 000 years of guerrilla warfare has turned the Revolt's military into a series of hardened veterans so they're still able to put up a fight.

History

After their initial attacks, just under 2% of the Technocracy's states sided with the Revolt. As they held their ground against the Technocracy however, they started gaining more and more supporters. The Revolt slowly gained more and more supporters until they were finally strong enough to start taking over territories by force. Up until this point, the fate of the Revolt had looked bleak since many of their supporters were being conquered by the Technocracy. This signified the possibility of Revolt actually defeating the Technocracy, and so they kept gaining even more supporters. Now, many of the Technocracy's loyalist factions refuse to defect. The supply of willing supporters for the Revolt has almost completely dried up. Therefore, they no longer have a net gain in territory, nor do they have a net loss. They've finally reached a point of equilibrium with the Technocracy.
