The Maelstrom Supercolony

The Maelstrom Supercolony is the largest nanite colony in Laniakea. They pose a massive threat to any lifeforms outside of their great hive mind networks and may even have the potential to consume the entire supercluster.

Structure

The supercolony consists of a series of seperate AI overminds. These overminds control the actions of every single nanite under their control. There are typically 1-5 of these overminds per star system however in a newly infected system, the nanites may be relying on their own dumb AI brains.

Public Agenda

The nanites only exist for one purpose: to consume as much matter as possible. This allows them to replicate and consume even more.

Assets

The nanites occupy approximately 2.7 trillion star systems and have access to all of the mass inside of them (excluding black holes). This mass is turned into more nanites which can form virtually anything.

Territories

The territories of the Maelstrom nanites varies wildly across Laniakea. Most occupy the Hydra-Centaurus Supercluster but a few have managed to makee their way all the way out to the Southern or Pavo-Indus Superclusters. Some galaxies are completely infested while others may only have a few dwindling sub-colonies.
