Yudox 555

A commonly used turbojet passenger airplane manufactured by Yudox in Yudonia. It was first introduced to the market on 1995 and more than 1700 orders have been delivered by December, 2017. It is the most widely used plane manufactured in Yudonia, having representation on all low-cost European airlines and even some American ones.
Although it went on the market without any official nicknames, the nick of Tripple-S started to gain some fame around 2008 to later become a widely spread label.

Development

During the 80's Boom in which Yudonia experienced a quick growth of its aeronautic, shipbuilding, and manufacturing industries, Yudair signed a contract with Yudox for the creation of a new, improved, medium-range, medium-cabin, dual-engine plane. At least 30 units were to be sold to Yudair after their manufacturing, but after a series of events, including the collapse of the Soviet Union and the depression suffered by Russian airliner manufacturers like Tupolev, Sukhoi, Antonov and Ilyushin, Yudox arrived to cover the European needs for cheap and small airliners, and Yudox arrived to stay. After the 555 model, which sold more than 50 units on its first year, came the 656 and the 757, which ended up replacing the old DC-9 and DC-10, as well as the Il-72.

Comparable aircraft

The 555 is comparable to the Boeing 737. The main differences are the extra 2 meters wide, more pointy cabin, thicker lower body, bigger fuel tanks, and the extended range of the 555 compared to the 737. The main issue between the two planes is price, being a little lower on the Boeing side, while the 555 has Yudonian made LTJ-3 turbofan engines and a much longer range.
