Mude

Translated into "Mute", Mude is a very popular card game played by, at lest 4 people, in which players' ultimate goal is to have 4 cards of the same number and then make a signal to a teammate so it's called out and the team wins a point.

Rules

  • Players must be organized in pairs. Each pair is one team. In Classic Mute each team must have exclusively 2 players in it, but in Modern Mute, teams can have unlimited members with the condition of all temas having same amount of players each.
  • Each team must have previously stablished one or a series of signals secret to the rest of the teams, which they will use to communicate each other if they have a "Len"(all 4 cards of the same number)
  • Players must be sit so that there are no consecutive teammates, alternating with the same frequency with other teams' players every time. Example: If there were 4 teams of 2, players would sit 1-2-3-4-1-2-3-4, or they could also sit 1-4-3-2-1-4-3-2, for example, always keeping the sequence.
  • At the start, all players are given 4 cards randomly, and by turns, counterclockwise, each player can throw away as much cards as wanted, and later replace them with new, unknown, random cards from the mace
  • If a player discovers that a plyer from another team is trying to signal a "Len", it could be called out by saying No Len(Non-Full). If the player was right about the signaling, the caught player must grab new cards and no points are added. If, however, the calling was not true, the caller must grab new cards. If a player calls out its teammate out of time, the caller must also draw new cards. In both cases the team with a wrong call loses a point.
  • Each team can interchange as many cards as wanted, as often as desired, and with as many cards as desired, and signals can be made about asking for a card or denying its possession.
  • If a player correctly calls it teammate out while signaling, the team wins 2 points and the called must draw new cards.
  • Signals can contain sounds and gests, and there are no rules against anything. A signal can be as simple as inflating the cheeks or as complicated as a series of numbers that only when said in the correct order has a meaning. Signals can also be secret messages, maybe asking for a specific card to be let on the table or asking if a teammate has a "Len" or not.
  • Game is usually played with typical poker cards, but it can be played with other deck types as well, as the spanish one, for example.
