Elf

Elves are a humanoid race, distantly related to other hominids such as Humans and Halflings.

Basic Information

Anatomy

Elves are generally bipedal humanoids, with a set number of arms and legs. Most are tailless, and have wide-set pointed ears to help collect sound.

Genetics and Reproduction

Elves reproduce sexually and generally have a longer gestation period than Humans do, with pregnancies longer than a year common and not cause for worry.

Growth Rate & Stages

Tending to mature far slower than others of the same genus, most elves are completely helpless for the first ten years of their lives.

Additional Information

Geographic Origin and Distribution

Found over most of the continents, they are the third most common species on Ustos and are adapted to a wide variety of life.

Perception and Sensory Capabilities

Their hearing is generally superior to Humans due to the shape of their ears, able to process a range between 10Hz and 50.000Hz, though louder and higher pitched sounds may incapacitate them. Elves also possess tapeta lucida, which allows for superior sight in both dim light and darkness.   Only certain subraces possess the innate ability for magic, though most can study it with success.
