The Rose of the Sea
Prompt: Write about a famous ship crew. Who are they and why are they famous?
In Professor Alighieri's youth, he tells the tales of a pirate crew he once headed. He calls the Rose of the Sea "the greatest pirate ship in the world.”
Structure
Captain Adonis: Alighieri once proudly called himself Captain Adonis von Leclair of the Rose of the Sea. He was the figurehead of the ship and lead the crew to victory with the help of his first mate and then-fiance, Odysseus Alighieri.
First Mate Odysseus: Odysseus was both the brain and brawn of the Rose of the Sea. He was a master navigator in his time and often advised his then-fiance on decisions that would benefit the entire crew.
Culture
Each member of the ship had a secondary alias/title with any descriptive word followed with "rose". For example, Captain Adonis was known as the Prism Rose, and Odysseus the Thorned Rose.
Assets
The main asset of the Rose of the Sea was the ship itself. There was also, like, a huge weed stash on board when Captain Adonis took over.
History
During the Second Wild Hunt, Captain Adonis von Leclair was under the impression his husband and remaining crew from the previous SS Prism were dead. Eventually, he reunited with Odysseus and a few surviving members of his crew with the help of an icy swordswoman. The crew eventually landed a killing blow on the leader of the Blaid Thon’s unseely fey.
Disbandment
When the Captain and First Mate married and Adonis changed his full name to Adonis Alighieri, the crew was disbanded. Adonis and Odysseus retired upon disbandment (until Adonis became a professor at the academy, of course).
