Threefold Method of Healing

I completely understand why no one's done this before, but, looking at it from a doctor's standpoint, it makes sense. We're always telling beings to care for themselves mentally, emotionally, and physically. Why is there only one physical way?    Dr. Hykall, Outpatient Assessment & Care at Mercy's Healing Hospital.

Utility

This has been used to treat 1 patient's Owl Scratch Fever, and with the discovery (re-discovery), medical universities are taking a deeper look to make sure there are no ways to misuse this Threefold Treatment method. Since this will take time and effort, it is currently not in use yet.

Manufacturing

Manufacture is needed for the potion, the equipment used in spells (such as the person's private wand), and any items for physical treatment (the salt for gargling, for example).
Inventor(s)
This was not invented by any one being or species in particular, however, the earliest recorded note is of from 1863, found in the journals of Dr. A.S. Patricah. She was a midwife helping in Nevada, and was arrested several times for illegal spells.
Access & Availability
Nurse Amelie kept this treatment to herself as it violated many of the hospital rules, but the patient was happy to tell others of his "special treatment," and that the best way to quickly and easily get rid of Owl Scratch Fever was a triad method of treatment.    The availability is common, but the accessibility is still rare since the hospitals are trying to see if this method of treatment was unique to the patient or if a threefold method would work for all beings. Currently, at least seven of the major medical schools are in the midst of trials to determine the details and possibility.
Complexity
Complexity varies since there are three methods for this treatment.
  1. Potion - a potion, after being crafted, needs to be created exactly the same by a dedicated potion copier. In this case, the Owl Scratch Fever Reversal potion requires a list of fifteen ingredients, the costliest one being powdered owl's talon.
  2. The spell that was used, the Anti-Scratchy spell, was originally used when a person was bitten by an insect, but Nurse Amelie modified it to used on a person. She is not a licensed spell-castor and, while this worked, the hospital is considering placing her on leave without pay for her actions. At the same time, the head of Spell Casting has had her sign a NDA so she can't tell people what she did.
  3. The gargling and sunlight is part of an old wives tale, but (while the medical universities are looking at the treatment as a whole), humanities universities are researching folklore for healing stories to see what remedies they may not know about.
This Threefold treatment might not be in hospital for several years yet since there is a wariness about unknown problems (not fully curing/removing symptoms or diseases), creating carriers of diseases that were previously non-infectious, and/or the disease mutating so that it doesn't respond to treatment.
Discovery
While this method of treatment was first noted on paper around 1863, it didn't gain popularity until the 2020s, when it was "discovered" by Nurse Amelia. What had happened was, by some, a mistake and by others, a firm breaking of the rules.    A patient had come to her complaining of a scratchy throat and yellowish eyes; Nurse Amelie diagnosed Owl Scratch Fever [Note: this disease began in another species, but was predominantly seen in owls, hence the name], and needed to decide on a course of action.    Speaking with the patient, it was discovered that their body didn't respond well to the traditional way to cure Owl Scratch Fever, which was to drink the restorative potion, as they were allergic to one of the potion's main ingredients. Instead of information the doctor that the patient needed a different treatment, Nurse Amelie administered a child's portion of the potion, which was not enough for an adult human (even thought it didn't trigger their allergies).    To supplement the treatment, Nurse Amelia also used an anti-scratch spell [Note: she is not a registered spell-castor and this is illegal if the person the spell is used upon doesn't give permission]. This cleared up one of the major symptoms that normally relies on the potion.    Finally, she had the patient gargle with salt water, as that was the best remedy her mother taught her. When the patient was done with that, she guided him up to the roof for sunshine to rain upon him.    He was cured of Owl Scratch Fever within the next 24-hours (a much faster rate than using only the potion), and even had less scarring than the average patient.
