Sol
Sol refers to both the God and to the celestial sun over Ur , which Solarism teaches are one and the same. Sol appears and a somewhat distant orb of dark orange light in the sky. The relationship between Sol and Ur is disputed, with Solarists claiming Ur orbits the sun and other religions claiming the reverse.
Solarists claim to commune with the object, and that it is a conscious being of deific power. According to them, Sol is a genderless creator God, who shaped Ur, Dis and the stars beyond. Sol is a jealous God who demands a position above all others. They are both the warming rays on the first day of spring, and the oppressive heat at the height of summer. They bring the crops and the drought, depending on whether the proper rites and prayers were performed, or if they were displeased by their worshipers.
