Immortaity Salience

Immortality Salience is a condition in which the sufferer believes themselves to be immortal, has no awareness of their own death's inevitability, or believe that if they die they will 'respawn'

Causes

The condition appears to be caused by a disconnect in the brain between reality and fiction. With an increase in the popularity of virtual reality gaming, and the increase in the realism of these VR games, it's slowly becoming more common for people to suffer this, especially as an extension of a gaming addiction. People with high self-esteem were originally thought to be more likely to acquire this, however nowadays it is thought that it just takes longer for those with lower esteem to acquire it.
