Do you like the colour of the sky?

A prose based on a tumblr meme

Do you like the colour of the sky?   Above the dome which kept the population is the City alive, the sun could just about be seen on the horizon. It had been there for some days now. Above it the sky was dark, yet the ground was slowly, slowly being scorched by the heat and light. Every day the light grew closer. Not but much, but by enough to make a difference. Night fell, well, not really, but a shielding filter, similar to the pre-existing one which kept the city from burning up, shot up to cover the sun.    Do you like the colour of the sky?   The clouds obscured the light of the sun, yet amplified its heat. Even within protective doles, the heat could be felt. Boiling, burning. Nobody here cared about the sky. Stoke had never seen it before, hidden by orang-green clouds of sulphur.   Do you like the colour of the sky?   The tourists crowd around the edges of the town. They're looking for one thing, and one thing only. They point and shout in joy as they stare at the planet hanging in the night sky. They've waited for a week to see the Terrarise, a week of blue skies and no sight of 'humanities cradle'.   Do you like the colour of the sky?   The setting sun filtered through the reddish sky, turning it blue for a while. Two stars, brighter than the rest, could be seen in the sky. Earth and its moon. When the sun set the blackish-red of the night sky took over, revealing two misshapen rocks in the sky. These moves quickly. By the time the sun rose next, they would have orbited several times a   Do you like the colour of the sky?   This was, apparently, not too far from the sun. The solar panels on the roofs produced a bit of energy from the dim sun. Asteroids floated across the sky like dust particles, trapped out in the brownish-black of space, the sun reflects off of them, making it look like a million stars lighting up the sky.   Do you like the colour of the sky?   There was little light out here, most of it was reflected by the giant planet hanging in the sky. The yellow colour looked sickening, unhealthy as the inhabitants surrounding the many volcanoes in this moon. Three other moons could be seen, calmer than the moon this city was on. A smoky haze covered the nearest volcanoes. It was time for another eruption.   Do you like the colour of the sky?   Blue. Deep blue. Dark blue. With a giant planet eclipsing the sun. The ice from a nearby geyser reflected off of the light, glittering in the sky, deepening the blue even further. It floated in the upper atmosphere, before slowly melting, turning the skies grey as they filled with rain. The rain fell down. Blue. Deep blue.   Do you like the colour of the sky?   Further out the planet of Jupiter seemed smaller, yet only slightly. The eternally grey-blue skies of the two outermost moons’ nearside seemed almost dismal, boring, nothing was going on here, nothing ever happened here. No clouds, no rain, no bright sunshine.   Do you like the colour of the sky?   There was a brownish haze obscuring the giant yellow planet, as has escaped from a nearby methane vent. Turning around, the sky became a blue colour. When the methane vent stopped releasing its poisonous gasses, the sky would return completely to normal. Aside from the rain.   Do you like the colour of the sky?   Two moons hung in the sky, and the arcing ring of the nearby planet of Saturn cut across the sky. These weren’t really moons, they were sub moons, moons which orbit moons. The reflection from the planet turned the sky a slight yellow colour.   Do you like the colour of the sky?   There was very little light, aside from that which reflected off of the smooth, blue planet. Although the sun was up, it hardly made a difference, it was just another star in the black sky. Nothing special, for those on the icy moons of Uranus. The sun set on each moon, and one by one the twilight turned to night.    Do you like the colour of the sky?   Triton was officially the last planemo to in any way be influenced by the sun. A distant star in the black, black sky. Out here there was no difference, really, between the day and the night. Neon signs broke the darkness.   Do you like the colour of the sky?   The two icey planemos were connected by a tube, going from the surface of one to the next. The face of one illuminates its twin with light reflected from the small dot among other small dots which was called the sun. They never moved, they never changed. At sunset, a blue haze obscured the otherwise clear black sky.   Do you like the colour of the sky?   Even further out, at the edges of the outer rim, the perpetually black sky was decorated with scattered objects, moons and asteroids, too small, too many. The small amount of sunlight did nothing thus far out, and the only illumination came from the buildings and roads.   Do you like the colour of the sky?   Which one?
