Bardic Performance
Prereq: Apprentice Rank Perform
A character with this talent gains the ability to rouse others through performance. They can use this ability a number of rounds per day equal to (3+1 per rank in perform) x their Fellowship modifier. Starting a bardic performance is a basic action, but can be maintained each round as a free action at the start of their turn. Changing a bardic performance from one effect to another requires the character to stop the previous performance and start a new one as a basic action. A bardic performance cannot typically be disrupted, however it ends immediately if the character is killed, paralyzed, stunned, knocked unconscious, or otherwise prevented from taking a free action to maintain the performance each round. The character cannot have more than one bardic performance in effect at one time at base. The DC for any saves related to a bardic performances is equal to 10 + Half Perform Rank Bonus + Fellowship Mod. This talent comes with three different performances by default, Fascinate, Countersong, and Distraction

Fascinate
The character can use this performance to cause one or more creatures to become Fascinated with their performance, the creatures must be within 90ft and be able to see or hear the character to be effected (Whichever is more appropriate). The character must also be able to see the creatures they are attempting to fascinate. Any type of nearby combat or hostile situation causes the fascinate performance to automatically fail. Any creature affected by fascinate must make a DC 10 + Half perfomance rank + Fellowship mod mind save, if the creatures succeeds they are immune to fascinate for 24 hours. If they fail, they gain the Dazed condition until the end of the performance or it is broken from the daze. Fascinate is a enchantment, compulsion, and mind affecting ability.Countersong
The character learns to counter magic effects that depend on sound (but not spells that have verbal components). Each round of the countersong they make a Perform skill check, the performance must make sound. Any creature within 30 feet of the character (including the character themself) that is affected by a sonic, sound based, or language-dependent magical attack may use the character’s Perform check result in place of their saving throw, they may choose to use the perform check after they make their saving throw. If a creature within range of the countersong is already under the effect of one of these effects, it gains another saving throw against the effect each round it hears the countersong, but it must use the character’s Perform skill check result for the save. Countersong does not work on effects that do not allow saves.Distraction
The character learns to counter magic effects that depend on sight (but not spells that have somatic components). Each round of the distraction they make a Perform skill check, the performance must be sight based. Any creature within 30 feet of the character (including the character themself) that is affected by a sight or illusion based magical attack may use the character’s Perform check result in place of their saving throw, they may choose to use the perform check after they make their saving throw. If a creature within range of the distraction is already under the effect of one of these effects, it gains another saving throw against the effect each round it sees the distraction, but it must use the character’s Perform skill check result for the save. Distraction does not work on effects that do not allow saves. A character's rounds of bardic performance refreshes completely on a long rest. In addition they also gain half their fellowship modifier in rounds on a short rest.Remove these ads. Join the Worldbuilders Guild
