Letter to the Guardians of Dawn

Dear Companions,   I pen this missive in the depths of the night, burdened by the weight of my newfound existence. The darkness that courses through my veins now threatens to consume me entirely. It is with a heavy heart that I confess the curse that has befallen me, transforming me into a creature I once vowed to vanquish.   I write these words not as a plea for sympathy but as a warning. The allure of immortality masked by the cloak of the night is a treacherous path to tread. The thirst for blood is an insatiable hunger, a constant reminder of the battle that wages within me. It is a battle I fear I may be losing.   The Guardians of Dawn, our once unbreakable bond, now serves as a bitter reminder of what I have become. Our shared purpose, our valiant deeds now tainted by my vampiric presence. How I yearn to feel the sun's warmth upon my skin once more, to stand in the light without fear.   My hopes now lie in a distant hope, a sliver of salvation. Legends speak of a ritual, a means to sever the vampire's curse and regain my humanity. I have embarked on a solitary quest, seeking answers and redemption in forgotten corners of the world. A task that may consume years or decades, but one I am willing to undertake to undo the damage I have wrought.   Know that my loyalty to you and our cause remains steadfast, though our paths have diverged. I implore you to continue the noble work we began, protecting this land and its people from the encroaching darkness. Guard our secrets well, for they hold the key to understanding our purpose and unlocking the mysteries that lie ahead.   May fortune favor you, my dear companion. Find solace in the light, for I fear I may never bask in its warmth again. Carry our legacy with pride, and may our paths cross once more under brighter skies.   Ever your ally,   Sir Roland Blackthorn
