The Mechanical Magical Rail-Wagons

A mechanical vehicle which utilizes rails and charged magic for fast transportation. Older models may have pulley systems or other such items used to manually start the vehicle.
Think along the lines of steam engines, except comprised mostly of wood and almost never a roof present. The body of this vehicle closely resembles a coach wagon. Special types of wagons are used mainly to pass through conflict-zones, equipped with shields to protect from both the natural environment and potential cross-fire. These variants also come with various first-aid, navigation, and siren-based equipment for use in accidents or emergencies.   Smaller versions can be found linking villages to large homesteads and farmland. Of these small versions come two variants, one for transporting produce, and the other for people. Domestic light variants can seat up to four people, with roughly a five foot by five foot space for storage. Trading variants, the ones used more produce, hold one seat for the conductor, and anywhere from five to ten feet by give feet of storage space. Depending on the variants, both Domestic and Trading variants can equip enclosed walls for protection.   Hi-speed variants make use of electro or reaction-based energy and magic to propel the vehicle and keep momentum. Often, a "conductor" is place in charge of maintaining the operation, mostly the magic/energy front. Depending on distance and the conductor's abilities, they can work anywhere from one to ten trips in a single shift.   Customization and modification are widely practiced on these wagons, as they are versatile and can be easily repaired or replaced. Despite this, the vehicle seems to be regions locked mainly to central Meta, with it's large open plains and smoother landforms.

Author's Notes

This is a super rough concept, and one that is hard to put into words strangely.
