In the world of Ullthwaygon, the lines between good and evil are most thoroughly blurred. much like our own world. Unlike our own world through the gods as they are often known are very much alive. The way a person conducts themselves is more often than not quite closely aligned with one of them whether or not they choose it or if they even know.
Mechanically Divine Alignment dictates how a creature will be affected by certain effects such as spells. Outside of mechanics, it will tell you an immense about their personality and how you can expect them to react to any given circumstances.
As players, it is up to you whether or not to engage with this system. If you do not pick one an alignment will be chosen for you and if you stray from the one you have it will change as surely as you do. Alines interact with each other and different ones will react in unique ways if at all. You may very well worship a different god to one of your alinement. Though know that you do worship the god of your alignment through your actions whether you like it or not.
Alignment comes in many levels of strength. A stronger alignment comes with far more advantages and far more drawbacks. Spells also have this connection and you will give power to its patron with every casting as surely as if you said their name.
