Wyverian - The Dragon Folk

One of the eldest ancestries on Ulgrotha are the Wyverians – The Dragon Folk. Hailing from heartlands of the Old World, they arose the first empire in the world without the help of the Elf. Deep in the Caucasus Wastes arose Arkoshia, the Dominance of Dragons led by a dragon emperor named the Golden One, and a highly regimented society - split into guilds which act something like a cast system, with each guild focusing primarily on one area, trade, seafaring, war or the likes. All working on the colors of their scales - their lineage.

In Arkhosia, Wyverians served dragons in numerous capacities, from vizier to archmage, oracle to valet. The most important roles performed by Wyverians, however, were as agents in a dangerous world or as defenders of the homeland. Even the Troglodyte tribes fulfilled the role of the servant class of Arkhosia, under the authority of the dragonborn lineages. With the combined might of the Dragons and the Wyvern Folk, Arkoshia expanded to all corners of the world, until it encountered the Empire of Bael Turath – and their war ends in the mutual annihilation of both empires.

These Imperial Wars left the Wyverians shattered. But their culture endured - they endured. In large Wyverian settlements, the different lineages did not like to mix and there was rivalry amongst them. Some have turned to sell-steel work, while others seek to uncover forgotten Arkoshian draconic hoards.

In the new age, there are many who hold the conspiracy theory which attributed a doppler-like polymorphism to Wyverians or at least a caste of them, an ability which they supposedly used to impersonate influential individuals. This is, hopefully, nothing more than a superstition.

But what about Mixed-Lineage Wyverians? In traditional Wyverian society, especially south of the Savage Coast, Mixed-Lineage Wyverian are shunned or viewed as lesser - because the closer to one Dragonic Lineage a Wyverian is, the closer to the dragons they are. Or so the explanation goes.
However, as many Wyverians that join the tribal-cities of humans no longer abid by the adage. Prefering to join the family of families, and decide their own fate from there.
