Ustan Monastery
Truth through training.
Perched near the peak of Mount Clertonas is a massive limestone and marble monastery. Known as the Ustan Monastery, most folks don't even know it exists. It hides on the north face of the northernmost major peak of the @Golia Range. It is home to a large number of Githzerai monks who have been stranded on the Material Plane ever since the Cataclysm.
The Ustan Monks have a close relationship with the Frostfoot Gnomes of Smodenheg. In fact, Smodenheg is the only other settlement that has contact with the monastery or its monks. Only a select circle of important Gnomes in Smodenheg are aware of the monasteries existence.
The Ustan Monks, aside from their traditional monastic training, also construct airships that they keep docked within massive hangars built into the north face of the mountain. Everything from large carrier ships to small recon craft has been constructed (with no small amount of help from Smodenheg's finest engineers.
Purpose / Function
A monastery, settlement, stronghold, and headquarters to the Githzerai who live within.
Alterations
Construction began within a year or two after the Cataclysm. It has slowly been built up more and more over the last 5000+ years. The oldest portions of the monastery are heavily guarded and lie deep deep within it's vast halls.
Architecture
Made of a combination of limestone and marble, the aesthetic of the building is surprisingly consistent despite it's constant additions and age. The whole thing, when seen from a distance, gives the impression of tall, thin, and strong. Smooth stone pillars support plain roofs over open walkways and courtyards. Inside is a maze of tall, empty hallways winding and bending, seemingly designed to prevent any actual angles from occurring.
