Matt wakes up beside a girl and a bound injury. The girl is Nocturne and outside the tent is his family and united packs preparing for war.

Matt wakes to pain and a bound injury but also a girl beside him. When he jerks awake she jumps up in alert but calms down. He eats with his family by one of the fires in the united packs while Nocturne leaves for war council, she is alpha of the Beowulf pack.
