Welcoming Pack Ceremony

When a new pack member is accepted into the pack they usually celebrate. Always under the full moon so the Moon Goddess may bless them and the new member. They howl together as a last initiation rite and to let other packs know they have a new member and it’s not a lone-wolf anymore.

Execution

First the new pack member must submit to the alpha pair. If they accept it they then asks for the Goddess blessings for their new member. Lastly the alpha pair starts a howl, the other members joins in after rank and lastly the new member to make it known another has joined the pack. The pack goes on a run together to ascertain the rank of the new wolf when it’s been introduced officially as ending point of the tradition.

Components and tools

The moon is used to make sure the Moon Goddess is present to approve and give them her blessings. Also the wolves voices in the last rite the initiation howl is important to let it be known a pack member has officially joined the pack.

Participants

The alpha pair decides whether or not the new member is to be accepted into the pack. The wolf of course has a key role to submit and show unthreatening to the alphas. The rest of the members helps with the initiation and determining the rank the new pack member has within the pack.

Observance

Always on a full moon at night, usually this happens during winter months or the first months after that following the mating season though it can be at anytime. It’s incredibly rare though to let in a new pack member in the pack.
