Uas, the Dark Tide

The creation of the Seas and Oceans

Legend has it that when Aiatali saw the destruction laid upon the world by Rheyir, her heart broke and she cried waves of endless tears. Phairoux took her heartbreak, and from it he made Uas, who filled the low spaces across the land. This is how the oceans and seas of Tyrannoch were formed.

Faith

In Urkuma, priests of Uas worship on the beaches at high and low tides, performing careful, ritualized movements that are known to be a powerful form of defensive hand-to-hand combat. Urkumians send offerings into the sea at the Festival of Yar, which is the highest tide of the year, and make sacrifices during Solm, the lowest annual tide.   Outside Urkuma, Uas is recognized mostly by sailors and fishermen. Small offerings may be made before sailing, generally at high tide, or to give thanks for a bountiful harvest.
