Session 71 (20. 05. 2020)

Two days after their arrival in the Regency, Telum Veritas had rested and recovered. All visitors, including Arundare, little Aissha, and the air genasi escapees, had settled in. The group had taken a nice trip to Highspire, briefly reunited with Kim, and had an eventful evening of Hikashi Knows the Truth, during which Isadora had managed to offend most of her companions while under the effects of some orcish rum.   The following morning, members of the group stumbled out of bed sporting varying degrees of a hangover. Morgyn, Penrose, Arundare and Carthigan had breakfast together while Isadora stayed in her room, afraid to show her face. Eventually, Vincent and Lia showed up as well, and the spymaster came around to lurk in the entrance hall.   Vincent had an important announcement to make (and ruin everyone's morning with): he had contacted Sage Ghant in Ellisan Velis, and received alarming news. King Hagan was dead, and Berjul had blamed it on Neaf Lilthas. Air genasi were being hunted. The help of Telum Veritas was required in Velis Sha'han as soon as possible.   This prompted a flurry of discussion, chiefly around the problem of reaching the capital in the first place. They had no coordinates for the portal, and even Nyx could only get within a hundred miles with the compass. It would take them days to reach the city from wherever they would end up.   This was the point where Isadora, having heard everything from outside, came in to apologize and request to talk to Lia in private. The two had a long conversation in the gardens, during which they both expressed their problems; Isadora admitted that every time she gets close to people, she ends up pushing them away, while Lia admitted that there was something she wasn't telling her because every time she was on the verge of finally trusting her, something happened to make her hold back. Isadora vowed to make things right and try her best to make this work. In the end, Lia had to realise that the perfect opportunity when she'd know for sure that she can trust Isadora would most likely never come. She chose to make a leap of faith, and revealed her identity as daughter of Shadrawai and heir to the throne.   The group continued to make their plans. In the end, it was decided that the best course of action would be sending Isadora ahead with the Babylon Candle, to scout and prepare for the arrival of the rest of the group. Beside gathering information, her most important task would be attempting to locate a teleportation circle they could target with the portal. She would leave on the following morning, after going through the ordeal of unattuning Heartpiercer.   The rest of the day was spent in preparation. Lia told the air genasi about what was going on; most of them chose to stay for the time being, as Ellisan Velis was now a dangerous place to be, but some Neaf Lilthas members led by Nuani wanted to accompany Telum Veritas and join the fight. Ralnor decided to hang back, but did agree to train her in what little time they had.   Meanwhile, Vincent copied spells all day, and Morgyn researched the saktihina crystals. He filed the ones on Isadora's head, which gave her some relief as they had continued growing while in Geocrancis and were causing her pain.   The following morning, after arranging a meeting place and time with Ghant, Isadora finally left on her mission. The others began another day of frantic preparations.
