Noble Preacher to Altaric and Divination Wizard
Appearance
When you look at Vincent he looks like an upstanding guy and though his very average height and stature makes him easy to miss in a crowd, he stands tall - posture like a noble - when he notices you looking at him. His bloodshot eyes make you assume he either doesn’t get enough sleep or just drinks all the time. His composure though implies it’s not the drinking. In a big room of nobles, he would be one to stand in a corner with nobody seemingly noticing him. Not because he’s stealthy - no because whenever you see someone looking at him, they have a worrying look on their face. The slight golden shimmer in his eyes scares them. He gets avoided and apparently is socially awkward enough to not be able to do anything about it.Seeing him outside of ballrooms though... that is a totally different look. If something catches his eye, he is the first one to investigate and in battle the first one to stand up and fight besides anybody that does so beside him. If you have a good book with stories about war and magic, you got him hooked and his favorite times of day are the ones where he does not have to worry about his family or companions and is able to fall asleep with a good book in his hands and a cheery smile on his face.

Personal history
From a young age on he was terrorized by nightmares. Horrible pictures of his loved ones dying just to raise out of their bones and haunt him in his sleep. He was scared of the dark and nobody was able to help him, even though his parents sent out for the best healers and herbalists the country could offer.
They trained him, healed him, taught him everything and prayed every day and night to make those nightmares stop, but instead they grew stronger. Out of nightmares became pictures of small events, happening around him, things that would eventually happen to some of those he held dearly.
One moonless night an old wizard came by, long black beard, wrinkles all over his face with a scar that goes straight through his left eye leaving it blind and white. He had long dark robes with fine masterful crafted ornaments and runes all over it. His staff used mostly to help him walk was nothing the people in this house have ever seen before. A raven skull was throning the staff and looking at the family, large and decorated with feathers and claws it seemed to look straight into the boy’s eyes. The wizard instantly noticing the potential in him was intrigued and offered the parents to take him in. Help him to deal with his nightmares and horrible dreams. He promised to keep him save. And although they were reluctant to give him away they also did not know any other way to help him anymore.

Education
Vincent went to school in the Grand Library of Astea from a very young age on. He had to drop out and get home-schooled pretty soon thereafter though, as his nightmares became too strong to allow him a regular scheduled life in school. At home the priests and clerics of Altaric taught him everything he needed and more. He was a very bright young child and thus learned very quickly everything he was given. Quite a some time earlier than his other classmates he graduated and then joined the clergy of Astea to then serve and learn as a Librarian in hope of learning how to better his condition. Sadly those could not help him and one day after a couple of years with the Librarians he got taken in as apprentice by Master Ivan a lone wizard that one day came to visit the Stantons and offer his aid.
Mental Trauma
Vincent suffers from constant precognitive dreams that show him a future in which his parents die to stand up and fight him as undead. He learned to control them somewhat as to nowadays they are still there, though not as often. He also sees future events in dreams that may happen and can now control it somewhat with the teachings of Master Ivan.
Intellectual Characteristics
He is a highly intelligent human that strives to learn everything he can not understand and use it to better the world around him and find a way to prevent great evil to befall his family. For that he reads almost every book he gets his hand on and follows the teachings of Altaric to preserve the knowledge as best as he can.
Morality & Philosophy
The understanding of the world that surrounds him he mostly got out of books and teachings the Librarians showed him, so his philosophy is greatly influenced by those factors. His moral compass usually always points towards saving and protecting his family and closest friends and he would do anything and everything to accomplish that goal. He also believes that the world needs the guidance of scions and thus follows Altarics teachings as best as he can.

Motivation
The mage believes that everything is connected and hangs on threads that hold the world together. The fabric of the world is his playground and to save his family he will go through almost every danger to understand and manipulate it.
Virtues & Personality perks
His usually very uplift mentality is one that allows all and everyone around him to feel good with him. He is a highly intelligent hard working person that puts everything he has on the line for those that deserve his trust. He believes strongly in the bonds that people create between each other and holds those dear to his heart. He will not stand back and watch how others fight for him and will always be inside the fray if he is needed there even though he as a noble-born does not have to.
Vices & Personality flaws
Even though he is a well educated man and his teachings of Altaric tell him, that no magic is inherently evil, seeing undead and watching resurrection rituals make him nervous and stressed out. He hates the thought of this type of magic being able to manipulate things that should not be touched. A soul should be left alone and not asked to come back. People should leave them be and allow them to pass on to the next life.
Personality Quirks
During high stress situations he tends to rough up his hair because he goes through it with his hand very often. He really tries to keep it nice but as soon as he feels stress build up or a fight start it is all over again.

Contacts & Relations
Vincent comes from a wealthy family of nobles ruling over a small island off the coast of the Regency, that is technically part of the Regency though run more autonomously by the Stantons. He was taken in at some point by Master Ivan, a lone wizard and traditionalist that taught him in the ways of divination. He loves to sit inside a local bar called Birdsong, though usually only chats with the owner, a woman that calls itself Lady Rosewynn.
Nowadays he has taken great interest in a group he has been traveling with for a little while now, that calls themselves Telum Veritas. He contacted them to help him find a man called Alistair Montgomery Newmont, who is a vital witness and accused of great crimes inside the Regency.
Religious Views
He grew up getting taught his religious beliefs by the Clerics to Altaric so thats what he follows. Teachings of tradition and preservation of knowledge.

The noble is due to his sheltered upbringing a socially awkward person. He masks it with an uplift mentality and confidence.
Hobbies & Pets
While he loves reading books at all times and carries with himself inside a magical portable hole some of his most favorite ones he also has with him at all times a small orange squirrel that has multiple small variously colored beads braided in its tail. His sister named it 'Squint' for him.

We uh looked at each other for very long. It was awesome and awkward. There was also the holding hands thing. Very mature. I think I blushed reading it.
