Session 65 (04. 03. 2020)

After leaving Bulderunklekash's castle, Telum Veritas traveled back towards Banta Juergo. The rest of the day was uneventful, and they camped for the night.   They discussed how best to fulfill the dao's demand of stealth, and decided to look for an illusion spell for hiding their real identities when they get to the city. Isadora and Lia had a heart-to-heart, during which the earth genasi revealed more about her life in Geocrancis. Born into slavery, separated from her parents at an early age, she had no idea where they were, or even if they were still alive. Lia urged her to have Ximena look into the matter.   The following day, they traveled on. Around midday, when they stopped for a rest, they heard some beautiful, enchanting music coming from nearby. Oddly compelled to follow, they came upon a gnoll playing a magical flute. Arundare charmed everyone except Isadora, and ordered them to sit and stay put.   As it turned out, he was a slave catcher in Oris's employ, sent to capture Isadora and deliver her to him. They fought, and despite some help from Vincent, Arundare was victorious. He knocked Isadora unconscious, bound her and began to take her away, but then had a change of heart.   Disgusted by his own actions but trapped by blackmail, he had been catching slaves to protect a child Oris was holding captive. Having heard of the party's victory in the prison, he thought they might stand a chance at defeating the dao and rescuing Aisha. He implored them to do whatever they want with him, a command which Morgyn took at face value, and immediately knocked him unconscious with a spell.   After healing Isadora's wounds, they brought the gnoll back to consciousness and interrogated him. Seeing a chance to get to Oris through him, Morgyn placed a geas on him to compel him to take them to his master, "with utmost protection". Arundare, quite self-motivated to help, joined the group despite Isadora's misgivings.
They soon arrived near Banta Juergo, and camped for the night. In the morning, they discussed what to do next. Running low on funds, they decided to try and sell some of their stolen saktihina crystals to Ximena. As they went to get some out of Penrose's hole, they had to realize that the bloody, uncleaned crystals smelled absolutely horrible, and spent a couple of hours just cleaning the mess.
The decision was made that, in order to facilitate their plan of having Arundare pretend capture Isadora, it would be best if the two of them weren't seen in the city, especially not together. So, they stayed outside with Obediah, in a tense little group. The gnoll and the genasi had a talk, and eventually agreed to a ceasefire. Meanwhile, Vincent, Lia, Morgyn and Penrose went into Banta Juergo.   By the time they arrived in the city, it was afternoon. Vincent's plan was to find a fellow wizard and try and trade for the spell he wanted. It took a few hours of searching, but they finally heard of an eccentric illusionist. They paid a visit to the little elemental named Graund, who turned out to be strange indeed, obsessed with hats and unimpressed by Vincent's attempt to present himself as a colleague. He came to be fixated on Penrose's scarf, and wanted it in exchange for the spell. However, as the scarf had been a gift from his missing sister Philomene, Penrose was unwilling to give it up. Annoyed, Graund threw them all out.
