Session 47 (04. 09. 2019)

Having spent a full day preparing for the journey, Telum Veritas finally stood ready to depart for Velis Sha'han. Vincent and Lia went to pick up his newly tailored suit and to buy a magic cooler box to store meat for Khesslia. In the meantime, Penrose and Kim went to prepare the party's luftbüffel, Waffles. However, it attacked Kim again, and this time, in the crowded landing zone full of people arriving or departing, two other luftbüffel also broke away from their handlers to rush at her. In the ensuing chaos, it was all Penrose could do to stop Waffles, while Kim was forced to spread her wings and flee into the air from the onslaught. By the time the others caught up, everything was back under control. Once again, they were very confused by these otherwise docile animals reacting to Kim this way; still, they left the city and began to travel, guided by Isadora. It was a beautiful day, and things went well at first. However, after a few hours, an unnatural feeling of unease came over several members of the party. Isadora identified this as something she'd heard about but never experienced before: a sign that they were hunted by Vexseekers. Knowing that these deadly royal assassins had the power to ground their prey (as well as turn invisible), the group landed in a panic and had just enough time to hide Waffles and Khesslia in a cave before the creatures attacked. Lia used her magic to aid the others, but couldn't hold the spell amidst the Vexseekers' strikes. She banished two of them but again lost her grasp on the spell. Not a good day for her. Vincent in turn enlarged Kim, who pummeled the creatures, also enhanced by Morgyn's spell tying her life force to his and sharing her wounds. Penrose fought well, this time not getting overrun by enemies. The group managed to take down one Vexseeker before the others turned on Isadora specifically, announcing that she was a traitor.
