Session 39 (12. 06. 2019)

As Telum Veritas burst into Alexa Sinclair's house, they were met with a horrifying sight. Amidst the bodies of guards strewn about in pools of blood, Sinclair and Newmont cowered in a corner, threatened by a huge man with an axe: Zel Tarka's executioner, the Crimson Edge, who had come to kill Newmont for his failure to retrieve the Nightstone.
The party wasted no time in getting between them. The Crimson Edge turned out to be a terrible opponent, smacking down those who got too close before bringing his axe down to finish them. Ragnis and Aella nearly lost their lives to this maneuver. Eventually, Vincent banished him, and they set up an ambush. However, even after that devastating volley of attacks, he still managed to reach Newmont and behead him, covering Sinclair and Kim in blood.
They finally brought him down, but his gruesome work was done. A shocked Sinclair thanked them for saving her life, and after a discussion with Vincent, promised to think about possibly managing the upcoming trial without accusing them. Telum Veritas departed the house, except for Morgyn, who performed surgery to resuscitate Newmont's little dog Reginald with Kim's assistance, and Carthigan who, still bound to his hat which Kim carried, couldn't move too far from her.
Eventually, everyone regrouped in the diplomatic suites. Vincent made a beeline for Damian to notify him of the recent developments. He suggested to try and work with the Social Axiom rather than fight them - finding evidence of Sinclair's involvement was impossible now. After this, he, along with Kim and Aella, went to talk to Nyx and offered her the ring of the djinn. Nyx reluctantly accepted it, and told them to talk to Carthigan and get him to agree to using it. They sent him to her.
In a heartfelt talk, Nyx finally convinced him, saying that Shegal, who had died so he and the others could live, would be angry with him for his reluctance to accept this gift. Carthigan relented, and rubbing the ring, Nyx made her wish: for him to be as he was seventy years ago, before any deals, before any darkness. Powerless, but a good man. And that was exactly what happened. He was alive again, half his age but retaining all his memories.
