Session 28 (20. 02. 2019)

The next evening, at the end of an uneventful day, the Emissary returned. She brought news that the Mother was willing to aid the party in their infiltration of Dal Zarma's lair. She presented them with a spindle of silk that the Mother herself had spun, and explained that such silk webs spanned the entire Wildlands, completely invisible. When you tie both ends to something, the silk string provides a quick way to move between them. In exchange for the spindle, she asked only that when the mess with the Nightstone was over, Kim would talk to the Mother alone. The party agreed to the deal.   On the following morning, they let the yuan-ti woman go. A weeklong journey followed; after three days, they reached the edge of the swampland, and before continuing, tied the silk string to a tree. Four more miserable days lay ahead of them, in the horrid, stinking swamp.   Eventually, an ominous dark treeline rose on the horizon. They arrived at Dal Zarma’s lair. A short search revealed an entrance to the tunnels the yuan-ti had told them about. To the party’s surprise and unease, everything was eerily quiet. There seemed to be nobody home.   They descended into the tunnels, and began their search. Viktor cast locate object on Carthigan’s hat, and after some time, got a direction. As they followed, the tunnel began to rise towards the surface until eventually, they reached an exit.   Before them was a large clearing, dark beneath the thick canopy of trees. From the shadows, a voice rang out: “Welcome to my lair.” Dal Zarma had been expecting them.
