Ironwood Forest

The lush forest full of ironwood on Astea is the one thing that stands out the most about this island. Grown by the Clerics and Druids of Astea and nurtured to be then harvested by the lumbercamps right outside the City of Astea or Barebranch for use in the Regency the ironwood trees are a very valuable resource for the ruling family to have.
In recent history Vincent, the youngest son of the ruling family, discovered that the origin of the ironwood seeds was the wildlands and were taken from Dal Zarma who considers it her property and a theft. She despises the Stantons for that theft and wishes to corrupt the forests for her own gain. A valiant effort of the local druids as well as a group put together by Vincent Stanton himself fought her minion off as she recently tried to invade the forest with her corrupting seed.

Fauna & Flora

Over multiple generations already this forest is a fruitful environment for all kinds of wildlife. Although the small island does not give a lot of space for a huge amount of animals you can still find a good amount of boar, hare or deer to hunt in the dense areas of the forest. Even some predators in wolfs can be found and the deeper areas give enough dark spots for bigger spiders to get their home. The flora and fauna is closely watched by the druids of Astea.
