Scion of Preservation

Son of Autumn, Altaric is known to be distant towards others, but acts as the impartial witness in history. Those who seek knowledge and insight into knowledge long lost or forgotten often look to him for guidance, and his grace is sometimes seen in the form of cryptic dreams.

Church

Members of Altaric’s clergy are often referred to as the Librarians, who are sometimes advisors to nobles, rulers, or merchants. His churches are huge libraries and astounding sources of information, though his clergy is careful with whom they share their sensitive knowledge. They travel far and wide searching for those with potential to train. Librarians aid in the running of the Grand Library of Astea and they refuse to work with those who stifle an individual’s ability to learn, most notably those who deny their servitors an education. Altarics worshippers tend to be practitioners of the arcane arts.

Rites, Rituals, Holy Days

Librarians pray for spells at dusk, the ending of a day and reflection thereof. They often travel to the Grand Library located in Astea, Altarics biggest holy site. Clergy from far and wide take part in a week of knowledge where clergy members share their books and scrolls with everyone they can and they deem worthy, schooling them on history and traditions long lost.

Tenets of Faith

The mind, and all it contains, is the most powerful force known. There is no task that cannot be completed through the course of cool reason and the brilliance of knowledge documented in history. Do not mistreat or abuse power given to you. Magic and Knowledge are tools; they are neither good nor evil, they are simply a reflection of its wielder. As one’s reach into the arcane increases, know that the best solution is not always the mightiest spell and that which is new is not always better.
History and tradition show the ways of those that came before. Learn out of their mistakes and use their success for there are reasons they stood the test of time. Record, harness your own experiences for those that come after will need the guidance as well. Knowledge grants you the ability to shape the world at your will - use this gift as befits a faithful of Altaric.
