First Sahulian People

First Sahulian People

The First Sahulian people were the ancestors of the first Australian cultures and first Papuans.   In the chronology of the Book of Turnings, they emerged when the Apo Duat People people first crossed the water to reach Sahul in 50,951 BP, and spread southward across the continent to give rise to the Kokojelandji and Wanjina Wunggurr people.

Notice

The Book of Turnings is a worldbuilding exercise intended to inspire and empower people to explore mythology and stories that span the many millennia of prehistory. However, the story of the Bininj people and their descendents is theirs and only theirs to tell. This article has been included here to give respect to the place of this truly ancient culture in the timeline of human existence. However, out of respect for these indigenous people, and in somber acknowledgment of the genocide committed against them, we will end this article here. Please do not create stories about any indigenous culture unless you have an authentic connection to their community.
