Nico Melton (teen)

Nico Melton is a 15 year old angsty teen male. He is 5’9’ and has uncut brown hair that covers his ears. He keeps it swept to one side so he can see, but also desperately trying to cover the acne on his forehead. His voice cracks and he “hates everyone on this stupid ship”. He doesn’t want to be here or do anything. He just wants to be left alone so he can play video games on his computer in his bunkroom with his other friends on the ship. Nico was dragged onto the ship by his parents and older brother who, being from the upper class, found it easy to take refuge on the HOPE ships. Nico’s father is an engineer o the ship, and his mother a chef. Nico has no interest in a job and often wanders the ship on his own looking for a quite place to himself.
Children on the HOPE ships are not required to sign on to s shift job until their 16th birthday, and lucky for Nico that happens to be in just two days. His parents have been constantly pestering him for which shift he will join but he has yet to answer. Partly because Nico likes to push people’s buttons, and also because Nico has absolutely no idea. Deep down inside he is terrified to try new things and his only real friends on the ship are the ones he plays games with—He’s never actually seen them in person.
Because of his parent’s incessant nagging, Nico has decided to “run away from home”, not that he ca go very far. Rather he has packed his clothes and set off for the most secluded part of the ship he can find, where he plans to camp out and avoid joining a shift for as long as possible.
