Yuenjin, Black

Named for their pitch-black fur and eyes, black yuenjin are generally considered the favoured children of Lakia, the Crone, and patron goddess of law. While they sometimes breed true they are more often born to normal yuenjin parents and, as such, considered to not only be a blessing by Lakia but also fated for great things. Apart from their cultural treatment their innate insight will always skew towards detecting chaos and they have a boon revolving around languages. Despite being favoured by Lakia, black yuenjin are not bound to her worship, although most of them do worship her.

• Ability Score Racial Traits: Black yuenjin are more social than their common cousins but less observant. They gain +2 Dexterity, +2 Charisma, -2 Constitution. This racial trait replaces the normal yuenjin Ability Score modifiers.
• Lakia’s Boon: Black yuenjin learn one additional language or dialect every time they gain a skill point in Linguistics and gain a +1 racial bonus to the DC of spells they cast that have the language-dependent descriptor or that create glyphs, symbols, or other magical writings. They also gain a +2 racial bonus on saving throws against such spells. A black yuenjin with a Charisma score of 11 or higher also gain the following spell-like abilities (the caster level is equal to the user’s character level):

1/day – arcane mark, comprehend languages, message, read magic. This racial trait replaces Divine Insight.
• Lakia’s Insight: Black yuenjin can use detect chaos as a constant spell-like ability, with a caster level equal to their character level. This racial trait replaces Attentive.
