Nirkast

The southernmost of all the city-states which has control over most of the southern tip of the Yldan mainland which are particularly rich in metals. This has led to them becoming home to an unusually large number of metalworkers, most importantly those creating weapons. This even includes constructs, firearms and machin, although they are still relatively new to the latter and not in the same league as the Savian Empire or Twinfalls when it comes to such industry.
That said, it is also notorious for backing up - sometimes publicly but more often secretly – the Clanlanders in their conflicts against the Savian Empire. While this is partially a matter of convenience (the Clanlands are directly south of them) it’s also to prevent the Savian Empire from getting uncomfortably close to Nirkast’s own territory as the gap between Sanctuary and the Yldan Isles at the latter’s southern-most tip is incredibly small – perhaps even small enough that the Savians could build a bridge across it if they really wanted to (although it would be the largest bridge in the world if they did).
