Alfur, Dark

Dark alfurs were followers of the Demi-Goddess Meena who believed in the supremacy of the Alfurs and sought to subjugate all others. This brought them into direct conflict with Luen and his followers which eventually lead to their defeat. The dark alfurs retreated underground, where they came into conflict with the karsyli who were much better suited to life underground and, initially at least, quickly pushed them back and deeper down. Seeing this, Meena transformed her followers into creatures of the deep - turning their skin and hair as dark as their surroundings and giving them great vision underground. The dark alfurs have since thrived, carving out their own underground domains to rival even those of the deep karsyli.

Dark alfurs, as their name suggests, have dark skin and hair, both bordering on black but sometimes being as light as a stony grey or somewhere in-between. They have the same eye colours (and tendencies) as other alfurs.

Grudge: Dark alfurs receive a +1 bonus on attack rolls against humanoids of the alfur and human subtypes because of special training against these hated foes. This racial trait replaces Weapon Familiarity.
Light Blindness: Dark alfurs suffer from light blindness. Abrupt exposure to any bright light blinds them for 1 round. On subsequent rounds, they are dazzled so long as they remain in the affected area. This racial trait, along with Superior Darkvision, replaces Low-light Vision.
Shadow Magic: Dark alfurs add +1 to the DC of any saving throws against spells of the shadow subschool that they cast. In addition, a dark alfur with a Charisma score of 11 or higher also gain the following spell-like abilities (the caster level is equal to their character level):

1/day—ghost sound, pass without trace, ventriloquism. This racial trait replaces Alfur Magic.
Superior Darkvision: Dark alfurs have superior darkvision, allowing them to see perfectly in the dark up to 120 feet. This racial trait, along with Light Blindness, replaces Low-light Vision.
