The Queendom of Jurélond

First there is Jurélond, which has recently been granted complete independence and autonomy and its borders have been well defined, stretching from Shudlow Bluff to the Larkimony Peninsula. It is an almost entirely coastal nation, for most of their territories are under the water - because the primary demographic of this monarchy are individuals of the Selkie race. Everyone who lives in their territories, Selkie or not, must adhere to the legislature of Queen Phombahl, who dwells in a stronghold carved into a rocky, tall islet roughly three leagues west-northwest of Shudlow Bluff. Their crude though dramatic architecture is done entirely by foreign Gethite stonemasons, who are amphibious, euryhalinic and hail from nearby Brinepond.   Jurélond's exports are of course, fish and lobster, most of which is gathered by the fisherfolk who cluster around the coastlines, and amber crafts. Selkies hire themselves out to crews to protect passing ships from the depredations of sea monsters and other inimical saltwater creatures, and navigators that guide even as far as Bralenc. The greatest work of architecture here was once a derilict lighthouse, repurposed into a castle - the only remnant of the lighthouse is one suspiciously ornate turret topped by viridescent witchfire. In their matriarchical culture they are divided based on who they marry - should they enter holy matrimony with a terrestrial man, they are a legster because they will spend their time dealing with affairs on land, like hunting and farming. However if they marry a merman - even a Gethite, they will be a finster, because they will spend their time as seals.
