Tiorathan

Summary

Tiorathans are the initial strain of mankind, emerging in the west more than six hundred years prior to the first age. Even at first glance of a Tiorathan of average appearance they can be recognized as the progenitors of the human race, they bear the tall frame of the Hyerosians, the dark hair of the Oroni and tanned skin that would darken further in the Seofarean people.

Culture

The People of Tiorath are strong warriors and keen strategists, and maintain rich and ancient traditions that preserve the last remnants of Astral culture. Their architecture is grand, and makes use of advanced stone work that is seldom challenged by the architects of the mainland. Tiorathan culture puts a strong emphasis on familial ties (as do most near-human and human cultures).   However Tiorathan culture is not without a darker side. To this day the Tiorathan people look down on the cultures of the east (including the other human cultures). Those who are born away from the Tiorathan culture or not of Astral blood are seen as lesser, and until the signing of The Gateway Pact the Tiorathans openly practiced slavery. Near-Humans and Demi-Astrals were not free from this practice, and although taboo, even humans could be legally enslaved if they fell out of favor of the Tiorath Hierarchy.
