Olrad

Summary

Tittles

God of Frost and Self reliance, Lord of Oron'Hye, Godcaster of Sethir, Patron of hunters, The Demon Lord of Oron'Hye

Description

Olrad is the Godcaster of frost and lord of independence, and he is considered to be kin by Sar'aan, despite not sharing the same pantheon. He is the Patron of all who can rely on themselves, even gifting a small amount his power and knowledge to non-casters who can handle themselves in the southern wastes south of his lordship in Oron'Hye.   He is the least worshiped of the Godcasters, being worshiped little outside of Oron'Hye, even in the other Sethiri states. However he has amassed followers to the east in Tierdun, perhaps being seen as the only relevant god to it's frozen wastes. Although he is little worshiped he has by far the most security when it comes to his worshipers, never being blamed for the harshness of his domain as it is this harshness that attracts those who choose to seek him out. He is readily followed by survivalist and Isolationists, and is believed to bless his followers with courage.

Appearance

Olrad usually takes the form of a tall, dark haired man with deep grey eyes. He is often seen clad in silver armor, the surface of which is coated in a fine layer of frost. Under his Armour is a thick snow-white hide coat, and a broad white cape trails behind him. He wears a small, silver crown, comparable in size to a Circlet but with a sharp peak at the front. It is encrusted with a deep blue gem, that pulses subtly and audibly hums with the sound of a raging blizzard.   His Tinesword is larger in size than Endros's, being more practical as a two-handed weapon. It's twin blades taper inward on their outer sides, and their tips curve in a way that implies that if the blade were not split it's tip would be semi-round. The lustrous silver of the blade is coated in frost, and the blade appears almost like a claymore blade split in two. The inner tines curve gently down onto the blade, and the tines form a round base where they connect to the core. The handle is made of wood and covered in leather straps wound tightly, and the pommel is made of a round, ovular stone. The guard extends outward from the blade on both sides and the ends of each side branch backwards in a way that invokes the appearance of pines.

History

Olrad is the least active of the Godcasters, rarely interfering in the business of others. The only known large-scale activities of Olrad in the second age are the implementing of his Caster Strain and his role in Sethiri conflicts, both of which were during the dawning years of the second age. In fact Olrad was so much more active during the early second age that some scholars dispute the idea that the Olrad of the Sethiriri conflicts is the same Olrad of the Godcaster pantheon, however those who study his time as The Demon lord of Oron'Hye know better.   Few now know that Olrad was once as active as Kilric, spending much time among his chosen people. He even sired a family in the more mild northern regions of Oron'Hye. He then lived in the now abandon city of Foran, leaving the city after it's successful sacking at the hands of Loyalist forces in 1053. He had been successfully beaten in combat, and his family killed, a crushing defeat for the young demigod. His pride and heart were rent, and cruelty found it's way into his mind. This period became a dark-age on the southern front during the entirety of the Sethiri conflicts, with Olrad leading violent massacres against any military instillation (even those controlled by the Seofare) that were formed near the borders of his land.   He almost single handedly drove the war away from his land, rapidly ascending to full Godhood. It is during this time he earned the name that many in Nor'Tirath still call him by, The Demon Lord of Oron'Hye. It is perceived by many to be a miracle that Kilric managed to persuade him to agree to The Gateway Pact despite it allowing his former nemesis to live at his doorstep, but the few who still know Olrad's mind know he simply desired peace, and the ability to keep a watchfull eye on his enemies, both desires met quite readily by the contract.
